Satire is a form of speech, an artistic and effective form in transferring a variety of themes. Satire is used in literary works in different forms and with different purposes. Maghalat Shams Tabrizi is one the texts in which this form has an eminent role. Taking into consideration Shams character and the function of satire in effective trasmiting of wise teaching this usage of satire is expected. According to this examine satire can be considered as one of the outstanding form of speech in Maghalat. A form which is used widely and in different types- types which are introduced in modern literary criticism. Verbal satire, Situational satire, and narrative satire are some of the most important types of satire in Mghalat Shams. Besides these known types of satire, Shams language in Mghalat is accompanied by a kind of subtleness as it can be said that the shadow of satire is spread all throughout Maghalat and Shams tone is generally satiric.
